There is just something about a person that is so wildly creative that pulls me in.  I love to create and have ideas…but I am sometimes shy about just DOING them.  So when you meet someone that has a creative mind and is out there simply creating beautiful things…you can’t help but be inspired!  We met Craig at the Perfect Wedding Guides, January, ENGAGED at Union Station Bridal Show.  We knew then we HAD to make Craig Sole Designs one of the stops on our Tour of Kansas City Wedding Vendors!  And his space did not disappoint.

Craig celebrated his 30th year in business this past March.  How amazing is that!  When I was in his studio he was working on two amazing pieces for upcoming events.  Seriously…I think I could live in there!  The place is stuffed full of design elements…all of which can be rented!  (wonder if I could use them for Photo props?).

My Lucy was with me the day we visited Craig.  Craig gave her a lesson in how to properly hold a bouquet (so she would look young and to show her beauty!)…he explained how a woman should let her flowers come down to her side…just at the hip…give a little bend to the elbow to show your shape…let yourself relax…this creates a more flattering image.  His other tip was to remember when photographing groups of bridesmaids and brides…stagger the bouquets…let the image be more relaxed and the flowers fill in.

After this he showed my little Lucy how to present herself with the best body language.  Lucy is a bit on the reserved and timid side (Not shy but a little unsure of herself sometimes).  He told her not to sit with her arms crossed in front of her and hunched down…but to open up and be tall…it is more inviting to people and reads more confident and powerful!  She was loving every minute of it!

I asked Craig what his favorite flower would be…he said Flocks.  They are so fragrant and remind him of the gardens when he was growing up.

Be sure to visit with Craig Sole Designs for your weddings floral needs!
