Colorado Mountain Elopement

Fort Collins Colorado Mountaintop Wedding

This Colorado mountain elopement the most special day to be a part of! I’ve known Molly for sometime, and when she called to tell me about her wedding plans to have a small, intimate ceremony in one of their favorite places in Fort Collins, I was ready to jump right in! They chose one of their favorite locations, Gateway Natural Area, to say their vows in front of a few close friends and family members before heading back into town to for an elegant reception at Ace Gillett’s, the coolest lounge inside the Armstrong Hotel.

I love that they chose Gateway Natural Area for the ceremony as it offers a gorgeous mix of green space and mountains- a perfect combination of their past and present! As Molly and David’s loved ones awaited their arrival on the mountain, the skies opened up and gave way to a rain shower. We took cover for a few minutes, and the clouds cleared, giving these two a beautiful overcast sky and cooler temps to walk down the aisle. Molly and David shared a few moments together as the rain moved out, and then hand-in-hand walked to the ceremony site together.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this wedding day was yet another reminder of what an honor it is to get to be asked to be a part of someone’s wedding day. Being right there in a front row seat to witness and capture the quietest little moments is really something special.

Hotel Kansas City Wedding

Hotel Kansas City Wedding by Kansas City Wedding Photographers Melissa & Beth

Hotel Kansas City was the perfect setting for Kelsey and George’s classic, upscale winter wedding! With little touches of MacKenzie-Childs inspired details throughout the day, this black and white wedding was one to remember! We left this beautiful wedding day with full hearts. We cried, we laughed, and we cried some more! Scroll on through to see the most unique “guest book” we’ve ever seen!

This is the most unique guest book idea we’ve seen at any of our weddings! Kelsey and George set up a vintage rotary phone from After The Tone where guests could leave personal voice messages and well-wishes that are then transferred over to a vinyl record. How great is that?!

The best part of the wedding day is sometimes the simple moments the bride and groom get to sneak away for a quiet moment. Using time during cocktail hour to eat, drink, and connect with each other before jumping into the reception is so refreshing for couples!

We LOVE watching Cindy Scott Artistry create her live painting masterpieces at weddings!

INTIMATE BACKYARD WEDDING

If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s that in the midst of a global pandemic, love will still prevail. While wedding season has been anything but ideal, we have had the opportunity to be a part of some very special moments with our couples this year. Like many of our brides and grooms, Kate and Michael had to postpone their 2020 wedding, but chose to still have a ceremony, right in their own backyard. It was one of the most beautiful and emotional wedding ceremonies we have had the privilege of capturing. Just the two of them, their rabbi, and their sweet pup Gracie came together to officially tie the knot while their family had a virtual front row seat on Zoom. The ceremony was followed by a champagne toast and a private dinner for two. There is no way to describe the immense amount of love that filled this day. We are so incredibly happy for Kate and Michael, and look forward to celebrating big time at their reception when this pandemic is behind us!
