One of the things I love most about makeup is the ability to transform.  Makeup can accomplish so many things: brighter eyes, fuller lips, stronger cheekbones, glowing skin…Pick your passion if you will.  What’s fun about a bridal photo shoot is that you can accomplish more than one “goal.” Sometimes we like to play with color, sometimes it’s fun to go bare faced, sometimes a smokey eye look gives you all you need for your “shot.” Whatever you prefer for your big day, it should be something that really gives you confidence in a camera shy world.  Your makeup should make you feel pretty AND fearless. Ask the wonderful photographers that I had the pleasure to work with and they will be the first to tell you that nothing makes a photo more captivating than confidence and self-assuredness. Lucky for me, that usually comes in the form of a lipstick tube…:-)
First up, we have the beautiful Tera.  Something that I love to do with my brides is play up their best features.  Right away Tera’s gorgeous blue eyes are star of the show.  I wanted to do a bright red lip with her for several reasons.  One, the blue undertones in her lip gloss pair so well with the baby blue in her eyes.  Two, nothing is more timeless and chic than using one of the most romantic lip colors of all time.  Three, she’s young and I love the idea of stepping out of the box and doing a more elegant look on someone that brings such vibrancy through the camera lens.
Another great thing about Tera is her beautiful complexion.  I used a silver champagne highlighter on her cheeks to give her a dewy glow.  I avoided using gold because I feel that can often make redheads look ruddy, and again it pairs so well with her baby blue eyes.  I topped off the look with a cateye using liquid liner to make her peepers pop even more.  It’s a very classic look and I think she wears it so well.
