Rachel & Jack’s Romantic Fall Wedding at St. John the Baptist & the Downtown Marriott | Kansas City Wedding Photography
Every wedding has its own kind of magic, and for Rachel and Jack, that magic came in the form of sunshine breaking through the rain and fall leaves glowing in gold. What started as a drizzly fall morning turned into the most beautiful, sunshine-filled afternoon, complete with golden leaves that looked straight out of a dream. Rachel had her heart set on vibrant fall colors for their portraits, and we landed right at peak yellow season. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
Their ceremony took place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in historic Strawberry Hill — a truly meaningful location for Rachel’s family. Several of her relatives, including her parents, have exchanged vows there over the years, so it was extra special for Rachel and Jack to continue that tradition. The joy on their faces as they walked down the aisle together said it all!
After the ceremony, we took full advantage of the fall color explosion outside. Between the glowy sunshine and the golden trees, every photo felt like a little slice of autumn magic. If you’re searching for fall wedding inspiration in Kansas City, this day was a perfect example of how gorgeous the Midwest can be in November!
The celebration continued at the Downtown Marriott hotel ballroom, where elegance met romance in the most timeless way. Guests were welcomed through a beautifully draped hallway that led into a stunning ballroom — one of those moments that literally makes everyone stop and say “wow.” (We have wedding planner Hannah with Weddings by Hannah to thank for that — her designs never miss!)
And speaking of WOW moments… let’s talk about the bar. The custom circle bar was the centerpiece of the room and quickly became the gathering spot all night long. From heartfelt toasts to impromptu dance breaks, it was the perfect addition to an unforgettable romantic ballroom wedding.
After a delicious dinner and lots of dancing, guests were treated to espresso martinis and late-night pizza — because honestly, is there any better way to end a wedding day?
From the emotional ceremony to the golden-hour portraits and that lively dance floor, Rachel and Jack’s wedding was one for the books. It was the perfect mix of romance, family tradition, and joy.
Congratulations, Rachel and Jack! Thank you for letting us capture your incredible day!
