Some weddings leave a lasting impression, not just because of the venue or the design details, but because of the people at the heart of it all. Alladson and Josh’s wedding at the iconic Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City was one of those unforgettable celebrations that I’ll cherish forever as a photographer.

The Kauffman Center, with its soaring architecture and theatrical elegance, was the perfect setting for this extraordinary day — especially since Alladson is a member of the Kansas City Ballet. For him, the Kauffman Center isn’t just a venue — it’s a second home, a place where he’s shared his artistry with the world. To witness him marry the love of his life there made the entire day feel deeply full-circle.

From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a day to remember. Alladson and Josh radiated joy, love, and a calm kind of confidence that comes from knowing you’ve found your forever person. Their connection is magnetic, and it touched everyone who came to celebrate with them. The ceremony itself was filled with emotion. Their heartfelt vows had guests in tears, myself included. It was the kind of vulnerability and beauty that reminds you exactly why you fell in love with documenting love stories in the first place. And then came the details — oh, the details! From the chic floral installations to the thoughtfully curated tablescapes, everything exuded luxury and intention. A particularly special touch: Brazilian sweet favors for each guest, a nod to Alladson’s roots.

The reception kicked off with a literal bang when Alladson and Josh surprised their guests with a fireworks show half way through their first dance. But perhaps the most show-stopping moment of the night was Alladson’s surprise dance for Josh! An epic performance, in the very venue where he’s danced countless times before — but this time, it was just for one person. Truly unforgettable! And just when we thought the surprises were over… KC Wolf made an appearance and even inspired Alladson to take over DJ Fernando‘s table! Guests laughed, danced, and truly soaked in every second of the celebration. It was the kind of night you wish wouldn’t end.

This wedding was luxury at its finest — not just in design, but in spirit. Alladson and Josh’s love lit up every room they entered, and photographing their day felt like being part of something incredibly special.
