Caitlyn & Kyle: Married!

One night this summer I was playing at the end of our street with my boys and discovered a huge colony of snails. I’m talking LOTS of snails. I had seen snails before, but always curled up inside their shells. These snails were out and about, slithering across a big rock, covering the grass. There were so many snails it seemed as though they were piled on top of each other. Then, a few days later, I was out at my family’s farm taking senior photos in a hayfield where the grass was waist high. I literally came inches away from stepping on the most beautiful baby dear curled up in a tiny ball just snoozing away in the grass! I thought these encounters were something special and wondered how I could top these experiences with nature. Then, that very same week, I went out to Circle S Ranch to shoot Caitlyn and Kyle’s wedding, and I found myself excited about my nature encounters once again! Swarms of butterflies… swarms of them! It was incredible. They seemed to fill the air down in the little valley where the ceremony was held. Yes, they became rather annoying to deal with at times, but this isn’t something you see everyday. These butterflies became a staple of this wedding day, and I know that everyone there will always remember them!

Because of the butterflies, the incredibly sweet bride and groom, the perfect weather, amazing venue, and fun memories, this wedding is definitely one of my favorites of all time!

This little guy hung on to my pants for almost a whole hour of the reception. I didn’t want to kick him off, because I was curious to see how long he’d stay there. Every now and then I’d look down to see if he was still there. I thought I might end up taking him home with me, but eventually he must have gotten bored with me and flew away.
