Wedding Week: Day 5

The Reception!

This was the perfect ending to a perfect day! Ashley and Stephen had a gorgeous and fun reception at Terrace on the Green in Leawood, Kansas. Being big K-State fans, they were beyond excited (and so was I!) about having Dave Lewis as their DJ. For all of you non-Wildcat fans out there who are wondering who in the world is Dave Lewis… he is the Voice of the Wildcats! I don’t think we’ve ever seen such an amazing wedding party introduction/entrance to a reception as this one! I felt like I was back at Bill Snyder Family Stadium as he announced the newlyweds! It really was such a fun party, great dancing, wonderful toasts to the new Mr. & Mrs., and of course a beautiful and delicious cake!

One of the things we like to do at the end of the reception is to take our couples outside with us on our way out and get one last shot of the day. It gives us a chance to have a little fun and play around with some fun lighting, and it gives the bride and groom a little break from the party to have a few more minutes of alone time (if you’ve been married, you know that alone time on your wedding day can be hard to come by!). We took Ashley and Stephen out to the back patio and let them have a few quiet minutes to talk and hang out while we captured some beautiful images!
Congrats to Ashley and Stephen! We absolutely loved every minute of your wedding day and we are so happy we were able to be a part of this important day in your life!
