Diana & Mark: Married! Uptown Theatre Kansas City Wedding

Diana & Mark: Married!

Uptown Theatre Kansas City Wedding

Sometimes I feel like a broken record, but we really are so blessed to work with the best couples. From our very first meeting with Diana and Mark, we knew we were going to love working with them, hanging out with them, and getting to be a part of their wedding! They may be Nebraska fans, but hey, we love them nonetheless! 😉

Their gorgeous day began with hair and makeup at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee. We’ve frequented this church over the past year for weddings, and it’s one of our favorites to shoot at. Diana had her makeup done by the fabulous Lindsey from Blush Spa. Oh, and she had the most stunning gown from Bridal Extraordinaire!

Sweet moments with mom just before the First Look.We always love a sweet First Look between the bride and groom! When we set up a First Look with the bride and groom we put on our zoom lenses so we can keep our distance- give the couple their space for a quiet and intimate moment together. Even though we are hiding back in the corner and can’t hear what the couple is saying, it’s tough not to get emotional as we watch them see each other for the first time. It makes it even more emotional when they exchange letters or gifts during this time. Diana and Mark exchanged letters and read them together, and I still get a little teary-eyed when I look through these photos.
This church is absolutely gorgeous for wedding ceremonies!
After the ceremony, we took the wedding party to the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City for some fun portraits!
Seriously, these are two gorgeous people, inside and out! After portraits we made our way to the Uptown Theatre for the reception. This was our first time shooting at the Uptown, and we loved it! It was a great venue, and the staff was amazing to work with! Our last shot of the night with the new Mr. & Mrs. Thorston! We snuck out into the hallway (okay, we may have started a party in the hallway, but hey, we like to have fun while we work!), and I just love these shots of the two of them snuggled close in the dark hallway, especially with their reflection in the mirror in the background!

Congratulations Diana & Mark!! We absolutely loved every minute with you guys and can’t wait for your family to grow! 😉
